<p>As the story opens, sleuth team Tommy and Tuppence Beresford make a dutiful visit to Tommy's Aunt Ada at a nursing home. Ada dies there peacefully soon after, but when her cohort Mrs. Lancaster vanishes, Tuppence grows suspicious. Her intuition proves correct.</p>
