The Spectacles

A young man sees a beautiful woman from afar at an opera house, even though he cannot see her well without his spectacles. Once he eventually puts on his spectacles and sees her clearly up close, she doesn't appear the same to him at all. This is a classic short story by Edgar Allan Poe.
