Baldwin (1841-1925) was an American educator and administrator in the state of Indiana who went on to become a widely published editor of textbooks and children's author on subjects including mythology, legends, biography and literature. First published in 1887, this work retelling the adventures of Odysseus is reprinted from the Scribner's edition of 1927 with illustrations by Howard Pyle.
