The Kreutzer Sonata and Other Stories

The Kreutzer Sonata and Other Stories (1890) is a collection of stories by Leo Tolstoy. The Kreutzer Sonata is the story of a husband who suspects his wife of having illicit relations with a musician; the story deals with sexual abstinence and jealous wrath. All the works in the volume, including Ivan the Fool and The Candle, present the socialist ideals and moral, religious, and existential themes of Tolstoy's final creative period.
