Emily Inglethorp, elderly stepmother to and financial supporter of the Cavendish brothers apparently has been poisoned. No one doubts that it is murder, and few doubt that the perpetrator is her new, and much younger, husband. Scotland Yard is certain its detectives have all the evidence they need.
