In the pages of the book are found the attributes the author and his artist wife, Anna, were attracted to – forests, waterways and mountains.<br/><br/>The First Nations’ legend of Queenesh explains the allure. As the story goes, during the great flood the first people tied themselves to the great white whale - Queenesh, the valley’s glacier, preventing them from drifting away.
