Will Scott is riding the orphan train in 1866 because his father, a circus performer, believes his son will have a better life with a family out west. Will comes to live with a kindly doctor and forms a special bond with him as he accompanies him on his rounds to the local farms. When the circus comes to town, Will has to make a big decision about his father.
