All's Well That Ends Well
Details
All's Well That Ends Well is derived from the ninth story of the third day of Boccaccio's Decameron, presumably in William Painter's translation in The Palace of Pleasure. As even a casual reading of story and play will show, Shakespeare made substantial additions, and a few deletions, altering a well-told but scarcely brilliant or weighty little tale into a play of considerable subtlety and density.
