Caroline Kava and Robert Francesconi abridged Shakespeare’s Othello to last just 2 hours to accommodate the acting classes at the School of Drama of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.<br/>The characters can easily be multi-cast to allow all the actors to learn and practice the challenges of acting in a Shakespearean play. In Caroline’s production, Othello was played by four actors, Desdemona by two, Iago by two, Emilia by two, and so on.<br/>This version can also make for a single cast, economical and impactful production in any venue.
